The Hotel

We stayed in a nice Hyatt for the first couple of nights. The room had a glass wall (part of one of the towers) and was on the 10th floor. The sign lit up at night, but not so much that it would keep us awake.

The Lobby

This was taken from the 10th floor, looking down into the lobby. The lobby wasn't lit very brightly at the time since it was very early in the morning. At least the glass elevator was lit up!

Nature Preserves

We went to one of the preserves that has elk. Elk in Chicago; can you believe it? I probably would doubt that they existed if it weren't for the fact that we'd seen them on a previous trip here. Unfortunately, the day we visited this area, it was raining and we couldn't spend a lot of time. The elk were nowhere to be seen.

There are a couple of kayakers out in the lake. By the time they got to the bridge we were standing on, it was sprinkling. I wonder if they hung out under the bridge to keep dry. I never noticed them on the other side.
